Elena Likhatskaya

Elena Likhatskaya was born in Siberia. Until recently she worked as an artist and a teacher in Krasnoyarsk Art Institute. She now lives in Washington D.C. where she works as an artist.

“My work is a world of colour and the joy of creation. I create every day, it doesn’t depend on whether I paint or dance, I turn it all into art. Painting is like a dance for me. When I paint, I dance. Sadness, jo, happiness are expressed by colour. I just create colouring to express mood. The theme of my paintings is all that surrounds me.”

Likhatskaya’s work is held in private collections in Russia, the UK, the USA and China.

Between 2000 and 2007 her work has been shown in 29 exhibitions across Russia, China and the USA.
